International Operator - Consultancy Experience

Challenge:

An international operator in Norway urgently needed experienced subsea and completion engineering support for an upcoming subsea development project.

The project was a three well subsea tie-in campaign kicking off later the same year. Operator was looking for a team that could take ownership of the onshore planning and lead the operations offshore.

Solution:

Simple Tools proposed to prepare Detailed Operation Procedures (DOP) for the tree installation, subsea scope and well completion to a “onshore ready” status. This included collecting all the input required, streamlining the different operations in order to optimize resources and reduce time. In addition to the planning, Simple Tools would also facilitate HAZID and HAZOP’s for the project, and a CWOP prior to operations.

A team of experienced engineers that could follow the project from start to finish was assigned to the task.

Results

Procedures were made with input from customer, rig company and service providers. Lessons learned from previous operation, feedback from HAZID/HAZOP’s and CWOP was included. Experience from the operations was captured in After Action Reviews.

During the offshore operations Simple Tools provided 3 x Subsea engineers and 3 x Completion engineers on rotation throughout the duration of the project.

All three wells were delivered safely and on-time according to budget with ZERO recorded HSE incidents.

Conclusion

Extremely pleased customer that was able to put the wells on production according to time and budget.

All parties, including operator, rig, service providers and Simple Tools, cooperated as ONE-TEAM to get the job done.

This project demonstrates Simple Tools’ ability to act fast and capability to solve customers’ challenges.
